Bolstered by the response received for the MIT School of Government and sensing the need to take the classroom learning to the youth in the country, Rahul launched an innovative platform, the Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad (BCS) / Indian Student Parliament in 2011. This is a youth
movement for the transformation of society, for nurturing dreams and legitimate aspirations of the youth, for building the nation, and for intensifying the flame of Indian democratic leadership. The platform works with the objective of bringing the representation of youth in
mainstream political and social democracy and imparts practical leadership training to prepare them to be future leaders of the nation. In the last 8 years, the platform has captured the imagination and conscience of thousands of spirited youth and has joined them together for a singular purpose to strengthen the foundations of Indian democracy. Every year 10 to 12,000 politically and socially active higher
education students from about 450 universities across 29 states of India, participate in this annual national conclave.
The BCS has become the 'Must Attend' meet for the youth who aspire to be future political leaders.They come from not just the corners of India but also from the world over
A number of political leaders, engaging thinkers, intellectual giants, industrial leaders and youth icons of national and international eminence, from all walks of life and spectrum of ideologies provide the students with the context, analysis, courage, insight and perspective so that they can dream bigger, see clearer and speak louder. The students who have attended it till now have become brand ambassadors of democracy and such conclaves, though on a smaller scale, have happened in various states including Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
