Babulal Gaur

Babulal Gaur (2 June 1929 – 21 August 2019) was an Indian politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a prominent leader from the state of Madhya Pradesh. He served in various political positions and made significant contributions to the development of the state.

Born on 2 June 1929 in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Babulal Gaur began his political career as a member of the Jan Sangh, the precursor to the BJP. He actively participated in various political movements and rose through the ranks of the party with his dedication and commitment.

Gaur was elected to the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly multiple times and represented the Govindpura constituency in Bhopal. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly for several terms, from 1980 to 2018, with a brief interruption. Gaur held various ministerial portfolios during his political career, including Home Minister, Urban Development Minister, and Public Works Department Minister in the Madhya Pradesh government.

Known for his administrative skills and commitment to public service, Gaur played a crucial role in the development and modernization of Bhopal city. He initiated several infrastructural projects, including road development, water supply schemes, and urban planning initiatives, which contributed to the growth of the city and improved the quality of life for its residents. Gaur’s popularity extended beyond his party lines, and he was recognized as a seasoned politician respected across party lines for his integrity and dedication. He was known for his straightforward and no-nonsense approach to governance. Sadly, Babulal Gaur passed away on 21 August 2019 at the age of 89. His contributions to the state of Madhya Pradesh and his long-standing political career continue to be remembered by the people of the region.
